What is areola tattooing?

Areola tattooing is a cosmetic tattoo procedure where the nipple area is reconstructed in order to create a realistic areola. This is most commonly used for those that are breast cancer survivors.

Why?

Areola tattooing can be a type of chapter closing procedure for those that have fought  the tireless journey of breast cancer. It can make people feel confident as well as empowered.

Areola tattooing is also very important to those of the LGBTQ+ community, those who have had their “top-surgery”. In many cases the nipple area cannot be saved and therefore a areola tattoo can be a final addition to finding their normality in their bodies.

Is it painful?

Most patients find that there is a loss of sensation to the area after a surgical procedure therefore some sensitivity can be experienced durning the treatment but most patients sit comfortably through the entire procedure. Numbing cream is applied to the area in order to ensure minimal discomfort is felt durning the procedure.
